Paul is a disability inclusion specialist with more than three decades of lived and professional experience in physical disability and adaptive sport. A Paralympian and graduate of Disability Studies at University College Cork, he combines lived experience, academic knowledge, operational leadership and practical coaching expertise.
Throughout his career, Paul has developed opportunities that support greater independence, mobility and participation for people with physical disabilities. His experience spans strategic and operational leadership, adaptive sport, coach education and working alongside healthcare professionals, disability services, schools, community organisations and public bodies.
Paul has played a leading role in developing a number of inclusive initiatives in Ireland. He was a founding member of Ireland’s first sailing programme specifically designed for children with disabilities and developed the Foundation Skills for Active Wheelchair Tutors, an evidence-informed programme that equips occupational and physiotherapists, educators and disability professionals with the practical knowledge and skills to teach safe and effective wheelchair skills.
Through Advancing Inclusive Mobility, Paul brings this experience together to help professionals and organisations strengthen disability knowledge, mobility literacy and inclusive practice, with a particular focus on translating knowledge into practical approaches that support independence and meaningful participation.
